Back to Old Behavior

Be aware of the warning signs of an abusive relationship. Your partner may improve his/her behavior for awhile, but then go back to their old way of treating you after they feel you are under their control again. If your partner suddenly improves his/her behavior when you threaten to end the relationship, this may just be a way to keep you in the relationship. Until an abuser is taught how to behave differently, it is unlikely that his/her treatment of you will change.
